In 1987, Must Be Heaven first opened to the public in beautiful downtown
Brenham, Texas not far from the Washington County Courthouse. Although the
original menu consisted only of ice cream, candies, desserts and a few
sandwiches, the attention to detail and extraordinary customer service, along
with the nostalgic atmosphere gained a large, loyal following. Shirley Syptak,
the visionary founder, saw its potential and overwhelming popularity and wanted
to give her customers more. She relocated her restaurant down the street and
expanded its size. She also expanded her menu to include:

Twenty
or more different kinds of sandwiches served on fresh-baked bread.

Six
different kinds of fresh, crisp salads

A
large variety of homemade pies, including Chocolate, Coconut and Lemon
Meringue, not to forget her signature Dutch Apple Pie

Other
desserts include cakes, cookies, muffins and brownies

Fresh-baked
quiche and soups of the day - "and what a variety!"

Hand
dipped ice cream, including sundaes and banana splits, as well as creamy milk
shakes, malts and sodas.

Must Be Heaven takes you back to a time that is all but lost. A
time when friendliness was the hallmark of a restaurant, where the people still
care about quality, service and each other. The ambience created by the old
fashioned motif at Must Be Heaven will whisk you back to a gentler time when
you could feel comfortable with your surroundings.
